Why do my tyres need changing?

At the right pressure, the compound and tread pattern of your tyres add to your car's handling and comfort. Too much wear affects grip and safety and your car becomes harder to handle, and incorrect type pressures and/or uneven tyre wear also increases stopping distances in wet conditions.

What happens if they are not changed?

Once your tyre tread wears to below the legal minimum depth of 1.6mm, your car won't pass an MOT test and you could be liable for a fine of up to £2,500, plus three penalty points per illegal tyre. Worn tyres result in longer stopping distances and reduced grip - which is why Audi recommend tyre replacement at a tread depth of 2mm.

Claims must relate to the identical tyre manufacturer, pattern, speed rating and load index. Prices must be fully fitted and include any valve, balance and casing disposal charges. The Kwik- Fit website must have stock available locally (within 10 miles) for immediate purchase. All claims are subject to verification and we reserve the right to refuse a claim that cannot be adequately substantiated. Retrospective claims will only be honoured within 48 hours of purchase.
