The smallest model in the Audi range, the A1 supermini offers a lot for its size and with modern styling, is one of the finest small cars on the market.
Even though the A1 belongs to the smallest and inevitably cheapest sector of the market, it's imbued with all the same qualities that every Audi enjoys. Build quality is second to none, and the A1 scores a full 5 stars in the EuroNCAP safety tests - something very few other superminis can lay claim to. All A1s are fitted with stability control, adaptive brake lights, secondary collision brake assist and six airbags.
It's not just well stocked for safety kit either. All cars have alloy wheels as standard, ranging in size from the 15-inch items on the SE up to 18-inch wheels on the Black Edition, while a 6.5-inch multimedia interface screen with DAB radio is standard fit too
Along with the high levels of standard kit, there's still plenty of options to pick from and ways to personalise your model as you want to, making your A1 truly individual.
There's a wide range of engines to suit all tastes too, with everything from a 1-litre TFSI petrol good for 67.3mpg and a 1.6-litre TDI diesel which returns 80.7mpg to a potent 2-litre petrol with 231hp. This latter option - dubbed the S1 - is paired with quattro four-wheel drive and will hit 60mph in just 5.8 seconds, while the frugal engines come in at under 100g/km CO2, giving you low running costs, zero rate VED and, for fleet users, a low BIK rate.
Whichever engine you pick, your A1 will be equipped with automatic stop/start, so every A1 other than the S1 is capable of 57.6mpg combined or better.
