Audi has revealed the latest version of the A5 range, the A5 and S5 Sportback, which gives the coupe more rear space without compromising the glamorous exterior shell's design.
As the second generation of the model, it has been engineered to be the lightest car in its field and thanks to the latest set of engines, gearboxes and driver assistance systems, the new Sportback has been refined further for a better drive and experience.
With the addition of another set of doors, you would think the A5’s coupe shape would be compromised, but thanks to an extended wheelbase and short overhang, it maintains the great detailing of the standard model.
The interior is also as stylish as the body, with the simplistic design helping to make it an accommodating and easy-to-use space. The Audi Virtual Cockpit comes as standard in both models.
To aid drivers on the road, the new Sportback comes with adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, park assist and active lane assist, helping to make sure you are secure on your travels.
Drivers can choose from two TFSI petrol engines and three TDI units, which despite having a 17 per cent increase in power output have a reduced consumption of more than 22 per cent. The gearboxes available are a six-speed manual, a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic or an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox. With front-wheel drive as standard, two versions are fitted with quattro all-wheel drive. All S5 Sportback models come with quattro as standard.
Both the A5 and S5 Sportback models are available to order now, with deliveries beginning in early 2017. Prices for the new A5 Sportback start from £38,005, while the S5 version has a starting price of £47,000.
