The Audi TT has attracted more top honours, winning the Coupe of the Year award in the Scottish Car of the Year (SCOTY).
The judging panel for SCOTY is drawn from the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers and they felt that the TT encapsulates the spirit of the coupe perfectly.
Prices for the TT coupe start at £27,150, and all models have an extensive standard specification - particularly the Audi Virtual Cockpit, a fully digital instrument cluster in a 12.3-inch LCD screen which offers the ability to customise the display for all sorts of different information. With the optional Technology Package you can even use the entire binnacle for the satellite navigation, so you need not look away from the road.
S Line models gain all-weather LED headlights and tail-lights, while all models can be specified with extra touches like Audi magnetic ride, a deluxe automatic air conditioning system, Audi Matrix LED headlights and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.
The coupe is available with 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI petrol engines with 180hp and 230hp respectively and a 184hp 2.0 TDI. There's also the rapid TTS model with a 310hp 2.0 petrol engine, capable of 0-60mph in under 5 seconds.
Naturally the TT is also available as a roadster model to complement the coupe, with a fully automatic and acoustic fabric roof as standard.
Of particular interest to the Scottish judges was the all-wheel drive, available on the 2.0 TFSI petrol models. This makes the TT one of few truly usable coupes in the inclement weather experienced in the depths of winter - impressing the panel enough to win the title.
