Many Audi vehicles in the past have taken inspiration from the manufacturer’s superb sporting heritage and the latest update to one of the company’s iconic models has followed this path.
The TT RS range draws plenty of inspiration from Audi Motorsport and is the second generation of the model with the RS upgrade, fitted to both the Coupé and the Roadster models.
Under the bonnet is a 394hp five-cylinder 2.5-litre TFSI engine, an award-winning unit that gives the TT RS amazing performance and is capable of 174mph. It is limited to 155mph out of the factory, but this can be lifted as an option. 0-60 takes just 3.7 seconds in the Coupé, with 3.9 seconds attainable in the Roadster.
To help reach the best performance, Audi fits the seven-speed S tronic gearbox with dual-clutch transmission that also improves efficiency and reduces fuel consumption. Along with the all-wheel drive quattro system, which has helped to give Audi a world-renowned reputation, you can have superb control with great grip and handling.
Inside, the TT RS has been ergonomically designed and has been focused towards a racing feel, with a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit display showing all the important information you need such as the rev counter, speedometer and other race-orientated figures. Also fitted is the RS sport steering wheel with paddles and multimedia controls.
Extra features include high-end infotainment technology with MMI navigation plus and touch control, as well as Wi-Fi hotspot and mobile phone compatibility with inductive charging and on-board antenna pairing. Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity is available to give you the phone features you need on the go. The Bang & Olufsen sound system is fitted to give the occupants a great sonic experience, not just from the engine, but also for your music.
The exterior has also been altered with sporty design features and detailing including a new honeycomb grille, aerodynamic side sills and fixed rear wing with thin struts to reduce drag. Both the Coupé and the Roadster are available in nine colours including Nardo grey and Catalunya red.
With prices yet to be announced, the Audi TT RS Coupé and Roadster are available to order in the summer of 2016, with deliveries beginning before the end of the year.
