Engines
The power plant behind our fastest TT yet
The Audi TT RS Coupé has a 340 PS, turbocharged 2.5 litre TFSI engine. It requires just 4.6 seconds to reach 62 mph, yet such scorching performance is not at the expense of economy; the ultra-powerful five-cylinder engine managing a highly respectable 30.7 mpg.

Power on tap
TFSI turbocharging technology make a compact power plant that develops its torque - a punchy 450 Nm - from just 1,600 rpm, which is barely above idle. And it keeps delivering all the way up to 5,300 rpm. Such massive reserves of torque means blistering acceleration can be turned on like a tap in any gear - at virtually any speed - making overtaking truly effortless.

Performance under pressure
Dry-sump lubrication is an essential part of the TT RS's engine - another innovative technology perfected on the racetrack. It allows the turbocharged engine to cope with extreme cornering forces without being starved of oil. Which means it'll perform perfectly under lateral loads of up to 1.2 g.

Vorsprung durch Technik
These three words are not a slogan. It's our way of seeing the world. It is the driving force behind our history of innovation that continues into the 21st century.

And it is this commitment in pioneering technologies, such as dry-sump lubrication, that has led to Audi winning Le Mans five times with a petrol engine and three times with a diesel engine. We have always been at the forefront of the motor industry. Vorsprung durch Technik makes us who we are.

Music to your ears
The 2.5-litre TFSI engine and tuned exhaust note are just some of the incredible sounds made by the Audi TT RS. And for those of you who appreciate such intricate sounds, here is something for you.

In collaboration with Leftfield's Neil Barnes and acclaimed producer Nic Rapaccioli, sounds made only by an Audi TT RS have been brought together in a unique two-minute track, Die funf Zylinder (The Five Cylinder).

Racing Heritage
A proud racing pedigree

Over 70 years of successful competitive motor racing, we've learnt a lot about building high-performance, class-leading cars. But the knowledge we've built on the track doesn't just stay there; a surprising amount of thoroughbred racing technology finds its way into our production cars. From the ergonomic design of the cockpit to the power of the engine, there's racing pedigree in every Audi.
