The aluminium wraparound tailgate doesn't just look good, thanks to its dynamically curving shape - in technological terms it's an innovation. Despite the greater thickness of the sheet metal, its weight is around 7.5 kg less than that of an equivalent version made from sheet steel. As a result, the tailgate is light but sturdy.
