S8 comfort sports seats

The multi-way, power-adjustable comfort sports seats have been designed especially for the S8, and are the ultimate in sporting luxury. Upholstered in particularly soft Valcona leather, the front comfort sports seats are also heated. The seats can be specified in the exclusive S8 seat upholstery in lunar silver with diamond quilting, with seams, piping and web in steel grey.

The S8 also offers a wide selection of further optional interior colours and seat upholstery, as well as seats with optional ventilation and massage functions.

Interior accents

The interior of the S8 further sets the standard in luxury and sports design. The upper inlays and the selector lever are trimmed in Carbon Atlas, referencing the sporting inspiration behind the car. Typical of the Audi S models, the instrument cluster has grey dials with white needles - a design which is repeated in the classic analogue clock. The S8 logo can be found throughout the interior: on the instruments and on the steering wheel, as well as on the illuminated door sill trims, which also catch the eye.

The leather multifunction 3-spoke sports steering wheel comes with its own colour-contrast stitching. The shift paddles and pedals are in an aluminium-look finish, and a red ring frames the start button. The display of the Driver Information System and the MMI monitor greet the driver with special S8 start screens. It is this kind of attention to detail that sets the Audi S8 apart.

S8 design details

Fine design details signal the special position that the S8 occupies in the Audi range. The single-frame grille is platinum grey and its eight double bars are covered in chrome. An aluminium-look blade makes the bumper appear sharper, and there are high-gloss black slats and aluminium-look ribs in the side air intakes. S8 or V8 T badges can also be found in the front, on the back and on the sides of the S8.

On the sides, body colour trim strips on the sills, door handles with strips of aluminium and polished aluminium-look mirror housings catch the eye. The S8 specific diffuser insert at the back of the car includes a blade with a two-layer aluminium-look finish offset with parts in platinum grey. The exhaust system ends in two oval dual tailpipes in a chrome finish.

Choose your colour

The colour range for the Audi S8 includes 13 shades, including two colours which are reserved for the S8 only: Daytona grey and Prism silver.

Daytona grey is pearl effect, whilst Prism silver is one of the new crystal effect paints. Paint colours in crystal effect stand out since the colour finish has a particular shine and intensity as well as a distinctive deep result.

Alloy Wheels

The standard S8 cast aluminium alloy wheels in 'S' design measure 20" x 9J and come with 265/40-series tyres. The matt black brake calipers on the front wheels bear the S8 logo. A further five wheels will be made available as options, four of which have a 21" diagonal.

The LED revolution

Full-LED headlights are standard on the Audi S8.

These headlights give the car an unmistakeable appearance during the day, but especially in the dark. With a colour temperature of 5,500 Kelvin's the light produced closely resembles daylight, vastly reducing strain on the eyes when driving at night.

The dipped beam is made up of ten single modules, forming an arc beneath the chrome contours of the 'wing'. Directly beneath it, in a secondary arc are 22 white and 22 yellow LEDs create the daytime running lights and indicators. Above the 'wing' is the full beam, generated by two powerful, four-chip LEDs and a free-form reflection system. An assistance function switches between the dipped and full beam whilst further high-performance LEDs produce the motorway and cornering lights. A dedicated fan and heat sink keep each headlight at exactly the right temperature.

All of this whilst being vastly more efficient than traditional headlights.
