A6 Avant Practicality Features
Boot Capacity
Plenty of space
The luggage compartment in the A6 Avant has a generous 565-litre capacity. This can be increased with the rear seats folded to a very large 1,680 litres. The 60/40 split-fold rear seats also come with the option of a load-through hatch to accommodate a separate ski or snowboard bag. But there’s very little point in having a large boot capacity, if it’s tough to access. That is why, the Audi A6 Avant boot is designed with you in mind.
Loading made easy
Due to the clever trapezoidal link rear suspension of the A6 Avant, the load bay area is exceptionally wide. This means that if you need to load an item a metre wide, this can easily be accomplished.
No need to crouch
Likewise, the tailgate opens to a height of almost two metres, making it one of the biggest in its class. This makes loading a far less taxing activity for those over six feet tall.
Load securing kit
The optional load-securing kit works in conjunction with the Audi rail system, that comes as standard on the A6 Avant, and offers a host of different possibilities for transporting your luggage even more safely.
Running the length of the flat load surface are two rails, along which a telescopic rod and fastening strap can be moved and locked in any position. This means even bulky items of luggage can be held firmly in place.
Light & Rain sensors
Clear visibility – no matter the conditions
The light and rain sensor, standard on all A6 Avant models, automatically activates or deactivates the low-beam headlights and the windscreen wipers when required. This is particularly convenient, for instance, in unpredictable and poor weather, deteriorating light, entering tunnels, or simply, when it’s getting dark. And the rain sensor reacts to the strength of the rain – adapting the wiper interval accordingly – meaning you can just concentrate on driving.
