FSI: Petrol Direct injection
All Audi S5 petrol engines feature FSI direct injection - a unique technology originally developed for the Le Mans 24-hour endurance race.
With FSI technology, fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber in precisely measured quantities. The amount of fuel that is dispensed varies according to throttle position. This precise method reduces the amount of fuel 'lost' in the combustion process, greatly improving economy and reducing CO2 emissions. FSI also creates greater torque and increased power.
