Audi has been awarded the coveted title of Fleet Manufacturer of the Year by Fleet World Magazine in its 2009 Honours, held this week at London’s prestigious RAC Club in Pall Mall.

The awards were judged by a panel including Fleet World Editor Ken Rogers, Managing Editor Ross Durkin and other leading lights from the leasing and automotive market analysis industries. The judges felt that the Vorsprung durch Technik brand’s increasingly strong image and consistently high standard of service to the industry were as instrumental in securing its top position as the flourishing range of 31 cost-effective and desirable Audi models.

Iain Carmichael, Head of Audi Fleet Sales, who was delighted to accept the award on behalf of his team, said: “At Audi UK we are lucky to be working with an outstanding model range characterised by exceptional design and quality, increasingly strong residual values and surprisingly low running costs.”

Carmichael added that: “the cars alone can’t command this award. This honour is as much a tribute to the outstanding group of people at headquarters and throughout the network who work tirelessly to nurture our brand image and optimise our service to Fleet Managers and end users, and I’m very proud to receive it on their behalf.”

This latest Fleet World honour enters the Audi UK trophy cabinet alongside the Company Car of the Year and Business Car of the Year awards scooped by the A4 in the Fleet News Magazine and Business Car Magazine awards, and the six other category awards from the Business Car Magazine awards.
