Unique tailgate

A large, wide-opening tailgate has a functionality not usually seen on a coupé. With its enclosed lines, the tailgate blends seamlessly into the tail end. A split rear shelf design provides easy access to the luggage compartment. Bag hooks and fastening rings are fitted as standard and an impressive 480-litre capacity boot space gives ample space – 980 litres with the back seats folded flat.

An elegant silhouette

The roof section has been slightly lowered to accent the car’s sportiness while frameless doors complete the styling. Coupé-like design language continues with the sill lines maintaining their flowing appearance along the entire length of the car’s profile.

Sporty front end

The front end of the A5 Sportback is one of Audi’s most stylish and pioneering designs to date. The emphasised vehicle width, sloping lines exaggerate the single-frame grille and striking LED daytime running lights (standard on S line models and part of the Adaptive Lights Package on SE models) complete the look.

Down to the tiniest detail

The elegant contours of the Audi A5 Sportback create a flawless appearance. The positioning of the foglights inside the air intakes is a practical step that looks beautiful too. Slender headlight units and the elegant curve over the front wing complete the picture.

Third-generation MMI

Audi’s industry-leading Multi Media Interface is delightfully intuitive to use. You can quickly access the navigation, entertainment, communications and vehicle systems function without having to go through a long learning process. Entering the desired settings is fast and convenient with the joystick and central control knob.

quattro® with sports differential

quattro four-wheel drive with sports differential (available as a further option) combines the advantages of quattro technology with a completely new differential that accelerates the rear wheels individually. Specifically on bends, the A5 Sportback exhibits noticeably more agility. When steering into and accelerating out of bends, power is diverted to the outside rear wheel. With the optional Audi drive select system, you can tailor the response of the quattro® with sports differential to your own preferences.

Audi drive select

The optional Audi drive select system with dynamic steering and/or quattro® with sports differential lets you choose between the settings comfort, auto and dynamic at the press of a button. In addition, a personally defined individual mode can be saved via the optional MMI. The throttle characteristic, shift points and, if ordered, the hydraulic damper control, dynamic steering and quattro® with sports differential are specially adapted for every mode.

S tronic 7-speed dual-clutch transmission

The optional S tronic combines the comfort of an automatic with the sportiness of a manual gearbox – and it does so with extreme efficiency. The S tronic comprises two clutches: if you accelerate in second gear, for example, third gear is already preselected in preparation. When the ideal shift point is reached, the twin multi-plate clutch reacts in a flash: the first clutch opens while the other closes immediately. The gear change is completed within just a few milliseconds without any noticeable interruption in the power flow.

Audi side assist

This optional lane change assistant uses radar sensors to help you monitor the car's blind spot and the traffic situation behind the vehicle. The light in the exterior mirror notifies or warns you if side assist considers a detected vehicle to represent a hazard if you were to change lane.

Adaptive cruise control

The optional adaptive cruise control system uses a radar sensor to detect other vehicles ahead of you and maintains a safe distance by automatically applying the brakes and accelerating. The system incorporates Audi braking guard. If the vehicle in front brakes suddenly, the system first warns you with an audible signal before briefly applying the brakes if necessary.

Front Styling
Echoing the classic coupe, the new Audi A5 means business. From the smooth downward swoop of the front end, the striking V-shaped bonnet and dynamic single-frame grille through to the technical detail inherent in the sleek headlights.


Rear Styling
Broad bumpers and a striking spoiler lip make a bold impression. The spoiler merges effortlessly into the boot lid while thrills are provided by the sporty shape, giving the familiar and unmistakable feel of an Audi – a feeling of total control.


Wheel Section
Rigorous attention to detail is evident in the Audi A5’s wheels. Committed to its sports performance, it has large-scale brake discs to prevent fading under intense deceleration and lightweight mudguards that further emphasise the sporty character.
