Audi A8 Third Generation

The UK launch on the new Audi A8 will take place in April. Initially, only the 4.2 FSI and the 4.2 TDI will be available, but they will be joined by the 3.0 TDI in September.
Only two trim levels will be available in the UK SE and SE Executive, with the long wheel base beng available later in the year.
Like the A8's predecessors the new models is constructed almost entirely of light alloy and tempered aluminium body panels supported on a space frame.
The styling of the new A8 is not a radical departure of what has gone before and the design heritage is clearly identifiable. The big grille remains the central feature from the front but is now flanked by headlamp housing which contains innovative new technology.
There is a big change at the back, where the styling comes into line more with the A4's and A5's, elegant tail light assemblies which emphasise the width of the rear panels and the boot lid has a distinctive lip.
Inside, there is much which will be familiar to previous A8 drivers, but the quality of teh furnishing is even higher than before. The instrument panel is wonderfully clear and easy to read. The way in which the textures, materials and colours have been used in the interior is quite outstanding.

A1 The birth of a new era

The new Audi A1 is expected to reach our dealership in October 2010.
Audi is excited about the new A1 as it is expected to attract a completely new wave of buyers to the brand. The A3 is no longer called a small car and no-one would call it cheap, but the A1, despite its inherent Audi quality will draw buyers who up til now have never been able to contemplate buying a new car with the four rings on the front.
There is much talk of the new A1 going head to head with the Mini, and this is likely to be the case, but we would ask you to sit in them both and compare the quality, design and finish of the interiors in both cars.
Initially the A1 will be available with four different engines, two petrol the new 86 PS 1.2 TFSI and teh weel established 122 PS 1.4 TFSI. These are supplemented by two versions of teh 1.6 TDI unit, one with an output of 90PS and the second with 105PS. All four engines will be available with either a manual 6-ratio 'bob or the 7 speed S-tronic. All with the energy recuperation and 'start-stop' system.
It comes in ten different paint finishes, three solid colours and seven metallic colours.

R8 Spyder Arriving Soon

The new R8 Spyder is a beautiful looking car with the hood down, it also makes a fantastic noise as you touch the throttle, and let the exhaust system give full vent to the power of the 5.2-litre V10 engine. As the revs rise, it emits a wonderfully purposeful howl which together with the acceleration, pumps adrenaline into your blood.
There is one major styling difference between the Coupe and the Spyder and that is that the side blades have gone, they have been replaced by clearly defined air intakes just behind the doors.
The hood when stowed is concealed in a panel in front of the engine opening, It takes just 19 seconds to lower the roof and it can be lowered upto speeds of 31 mph.
The engine of the Spyder is a wonderful piece of engineering with an output of 525 PS at 800rpm and a maximum torque of 530 NM at 6500. Despite the high engine speeds at which the power and torque are developed, there is a huge amount of torque lower down, The R8 Spyder is capable of 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed on a not-limited model of 195mph!
As with the Coupe, two transmissions are available, a manual six-ratio box and an automated R-tronic. This operates like any other automatic gearbox.
The standard wheels have a diameter of 19 inches. Ceramic brake discs are available as an option.
Inside the Spyder like the other R8's, it has a Bang and olufsen sound system as standard, a full navigation system which is also standard. The lighting on the car including the day running lights are all LED assemblies.
Despite the fact that the Spyders bodyshell needed to be reinforced to compensate for the roof, it weighs just 6 kilograms more than the Coupe. For a soft top the Spyder is remarkably rigid, and even driving very fast on uneven roads with the roof down there is very little body shake.
The first cars will be in the UK in April with an OTR price of £112,500 for the manual and £117,700 for the R tronic.
In all Audi UK expects just 200 of the Spyder to be imported to the UK this year, but all of the British allocation has been pre-ordered.
